I don’t know whether or not this is supposed to be in English, but I ended up watching it in Portuguese… I figured there couldn’t be much to understand since it was just simple slapstick comedy for kids – I was right. While travelling through South America, the Disney crew made a film about their adventures there. Starring Donald Duck, Goofy and more, these three shorts, making up a 40 minute film, our favourite Disney characters explore South America.
Presumably this was meant as an educational film for children, which obviously would have worked better if the children watching could either speak Portuguese or get the dubbed version. Speaking from a technical point of view though, the animation is brilliant, which exactly what you expect from Disney, but it is for very small children who are amazed by everything because you would have to be to retain interest, unless you adore the older Disney classics or have an abnormal attention span.
Nonetheless, this shouldn’t be too heavily criticised seeing as I am not the target audience…
