This is another educational short from Disney about South America starring Donald Duck as himself. It’s very similar to Saludos Amigos in that it requires an advanced attention span, yet what does make it more interesting is the mixture of live action and animation. It also has more songs and so feels more like a Disney film as opposed to a documentary.
The animation, again, is up to scratch for expectations yet there isn’t really a plot to follow which is probably what makes it slightly dull for someone of my age. Having said that, it contained some more colourful characters alongside Donald Duck than Saludos Amigos so it was slightly more enjoyable, but the fact that it was about half an hour longer worked against that anyway.
It’s not something I would choose to watch again, but as a fan of Disney I felt the need to watch it, and anyone who’s reading this who is also a fan of Disney, particularly their earlier works, you would probably benefit from watching this too, although perhaps not for entertainment value.
