Day 83: A Town Called Panic (Aubier & Patar, 2009)

The stars of the Cravendale adverts finally made a film about Cowboy, Indian and Horse and their attempts to rebuild their house after Indian accidentally orders 50 million bricks that destroy their house when delivered. In their efforts they find that their walls keep getting stolen by sea creatures and so they go on a mission to capture the thieves and regain custody of their walls.

This is the most random film I have ever seen, and it’s very, very funny. It’s so unpredictable and beautifully unique, although even though it may imply it, it is not really for children even though it was certified PG in Britain. Children would probably enjoy it for the sheer stupidity, but it would most likely be better enjoyed by an adult with a love of French film and a childish and moronic sense of humour – hence why I loved it!

If you have seen the Cravendale adverts then you will understand what this film might entail and the style of animation, but the anticipation and excitement I felt before watching this did not even prepare me for what lay ahead. It’s not exactly The Godfather, but it is a must-see for anyone with a sense of humour.

4 star film
